Is this allowed?
This tool is for archiving YOUR OWN publication's public posts. Only archive work you own or have permission to copy. We never access paywalled content, bypass access controls, or ask for your password. Substack Archiver is independent and is not affiliated with Substack.
Will it include every post?
The free version reviews up to 200 entries, newest first, including restricted posts that are skipped. It has a 2MB limit per API response, a 4-minute budget, and a 4MB cap on the archive file itself. If a limit, rate limit, or interruption occurs, the ZIP is marked partial and lists exactly what is included. Unvisited posts are not counted as exported or skipped.
Are images saved for offline reading?
In v1, images stay as remote URLs: they need an internet connection and may disappear if their source changes. Scripts and active embeds are removed. Bundled images and EPUB are planned for the paid tier.
Can I use my custom domain?
Not in v1. Enter your publication's original <name>.substack.com address. We fetch only that Substack host and never follow redirects.
Do you store my writing or require an email?
Your archive is prepared in server memory and returned to you; post content is not stored or logged. No email is required for a free archive. The optional signup form is only for the paid-tier launch notification.
